City of Glendale
Glendale, Arizona
This project entailed remodeling and expansion of an existing bank to become the Civic Center Annex building, the addition of new gallery space to the existing Bead Museum, and the construction of a new plaza between the two facilities. The completed project provides a visual and aesthetical link between Murphy Park (City Hall Campus), which is located southwest of the project site, and the Civic Center Building, located to the northeast. The existing bank was substantially “gutted” but the main vault was converted to a charming conference room. Both buildings were roofed with a “cool-roof” product that reduces energy consumption, abates urban heat and slows the reaction of smog-forming pollutants.
