City of Phoenix
Phoenix, Arizona

The landscape concept involved dry-land seeding of nearly 200 acres of the major landfill area. This unique project feature was achieved by re-creating a two foot thick (996,000 CY) topsoil layer that was manufactured to specification, resulting in successful re-vegetation of native plantings without irrigation. Landscaping was installed along ¾ of a mile of the19th Avenue Street frontage. A half-mile portion of the river embankment was landscaped to shade a trail system established for City Parks. Container planting was utilized on both the street frontage and river embankment landscaping.
